AgentChamp - Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

AgentChamp is used by children who find reading hard. Some of them find it hard because of dyslexia, a visual impairment, or a difficulty with attention or motor control. An inaccessible reading platform fails exactly the children it exists to help, so accessibility here is the product, not a compliance exercise.

This statement applies to the AgentChamp application and marketing site.

Conformance status

AgentChamp is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means most of the standard is met, but we have not verified every criterion across every screen.

We are stating it that way deliberately. We have not commissioned an independent accessibility audit, and we would rather tell you that than claim a conformance level we cannot evidence. When we have an audit, this statement will say so and will list what it found.

What we have built

Reading itself

• Three accessibility typefaces, switchable by the reader at any time: OpenDyslexic, designed with weighted letter bottoms to reduce letter-swapping; Atkinson Hyperlegible, from the Braille Institute, designed to maximise character distinction for low vision; and Lexend, designed to reduce visual stress. All three are now served from our own infrastructure, so choosing one sends nothing to any third party
• Adjustable text size and reading-view settings, remembered per device
• Read-aloud with word-level highlighting - each word lights up as it is spoken, which supports readers who track better with a visual anchor and readers building decoding confidence
• Full-screen reading mode with no sidebars, so there is less to catch the eye and less to mis-tap

Interaction

• Large touch targets throughout - a minimum of 44px and typically 60px for primary actions, chosen for children's motor control rather than for adult thumbs
• Reduced-motion support across the interface: readers whose system asks for less motion get less motion, in every animated surface we have
• Keyboard navigation and visible focus states
• Screen-reader labelling throughout, with semantic headings and landmarks

Design

• A colour palette designed for contrast against a soft-cream reading background rather than harsh white
• Colour is never the only carrier of meaning
• No flashing content

By omission

• No adverts, no pop-ups, no autoplaying video, no infinite scroll, and no time limits on reading. Everything that most often breaks accessibility for children simply is not there

Known gaps

Honest, and being worked on:

• No independent audit. Our conformance claim rests on internal review, not third-party verification
• No automated accessibility testing in the build pipeline. Regressions would currently be caught by review rather than by a failing test
• Complex screens are less well verified. The teacher and administrator dashboards carry tables and charts that have had less accessibility attention than the reading surfaces, because the reading surfaces are where the children are
• Reading-view preferences are stored per device, so a child moving between a school tablet and a home laptop sets them up twice
• Read-aloud is not available for every story. Where narration audio has not yet been generated, the text is there but the voice is not

Feedback

If you cannot use part of AgentChamp, tell us - it is the most useful message we get, and we will tell you what we are going to do about it and when.

If a child in your class is struggling with something specific, describe what they were trying to do and what happened. That is far more useful to us than a criterion number.

Enforcement

The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 apply to public sector bodies rather than to AgentChamp Ltd directly, but schools procuring on their behalf are entitled to hold us to the same standard, and we intend to meet it. If you are unhappy with how we respond to an accessibility complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

This statement was prepared on 25 August 2026 based on an internal review of the application against WCAG 2.1 AA. It was not verified by an external audit. Last reviewed 25 August 2026.
